The capitalist world has studiously endeavored to conceal the fact that the famous political economist became a Socialist in his latter days, and were largely successful for the reason that Mill's views on Socialism were contained almost altogether in posthumous papers.
Mills naturally knew little of Socialism from the Marxian standpoint, but none the less his work will be found extremely interesting to modern students of the movement.
