Set in Mexico City on the Sunday after Easter, the story follows an Irish woman named Kate and two American men, Owen and Villiers, as they decide to attend their first bullfight. Despite their initial misgivings and feelings of reluctance, the group purchases tickets for the Sun section and takes a taxi to the stadium.
