âIt is this. Do you still believe that Mrs. Inglethorp was poisoned by her husband?â
âWhat do you mean?â she asked sharply. âYou neednât think your pretty explanations influence me in the slightest. Iâll admit that it wasnât he who bought strychnine at the chemistâs shop. What of that? I dare say he soaked fly paper, as I told you at the beginning.â
âThat is arsenicâ ânot strychnine,â said Poirot mildly.
âWhat does that matter? Arsenic would put poor Emily out of the way just as well as strychnine. If Iâm convinced he did it, it doesnât matter a jot to me how he did it.â
