Fractions.
An algebraic fraction is the indicated quotient of two expressions, written in the form .
The dividend is called the numerator, and the divisor is called the denominator; and the numerator and denominator are called the terms of the fraction.
The introduction of the same factor into the dividend and divisor does not alter the value of the quotient, and the rejection of the same factor from the dividend and divisor does not alter the value of the quotient.
The value of a fraction is not altered if the numerator and denominator are both multiplied, or both divided, by the same factor.
