“Rashōmon” y “Lice” fueron traducidos por Glenn W. Shaw y publicados originalmente en 1920 y 1921 en la revista Eigo Seinen. “Tobacco and the Devil”, “The Nose”, “The Handkerchief”, “The Spider’s Thread”, “The Wine Worm”, “The Badger”, “The Ball”, “The Pipe” y “Mōri Sensei” también fueron traducidos por Shaw y publicados por primera vez en Tales Grotesque and Curious en 1930.
“The Story of a Fallen Head” fue traducido por Eric S. Bell y Ukai Eiji; “Tu Tzuchun” fue traducido por Eric S. Bell y Tada Yoshinobu. Ambas traducciones se publicaron por primera vez en Eminent Authors of Contemporary Japan, en 1930.
